A healthy scalp is the foundation for healthy hair. If you’ve been dealing with dryness, itchiness, or flakes, a natural remedy can help calm and rebalance your scalp between salon visits. One of our favorites at Salon 809 is the Aloe Vera Scalp Soother — gentle, cooling, and packed with hydration.

Why Aloe Vera?

Aloe vera is well-known for soothing sunburns, but it works wonders on the scalp too. It’s rich in vitamins A, C, and E, which help repair skin cells and reduce inflammation. Its natural enzymes gently exfoliate, removing dead skin and excess oil without stripping moisture.

The result? A calmer scalp and a cleaner base for your hair to grow.

What You’ll Need

  • 2–3 tablespoons fresh aloe vera gel (store-bought is fine, but fresh is best)
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil or jojoba oil (optional for added moisture)

How to Make & Use It

  1. If using fresh aloe, slice a leaf and scoop out the gel.
  2. Blend or whisk the gel until smooth.
  3. Add oil if your scalp is extra dry.
  4. Apply directly to the scalp, parting your hair in sections for even coverage.
  5. Massage gently for 3–5 minutes.
  6. Leave for 20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water and shampoo as usual.

Stylist Tips from Salon 809

  • For oily scalps, skip the oil and use aloe alone.
  • For flaky scalps, massage longer to help lift dead skin.
  • Repeat once or twice a week for best results.
