Dry, brittle hair needs one thing above all: moisture. At Salon 809, we believe healthy hair starts with hydration, and while our in-salon deep conditioning treatments give instant results, there’s a simple recipe you can make at home to keep your hair soft and shiny between visits — the Avocado & Honey Hair Mask.
Why It Works
Avocado is rich in healthy fats, amino acids, and vitamins A, D, and E that repair and nourish hair from the inside out. Its creamy texture coats each strand, smoothing frizz and restoring softness.
Honey is a natural humectant — it draws moisture into the hair and seals it in. It also boosts shine and supports scalp health.
What You’ll Need
- 1 ripe avocado
- 2 tablespoons honey (raw or organic if possible)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional for extra richness)
How to Make & Use It
- Mash or blend the avocado until smooth.
- Mix in honey and olive oil until creamy.
- Apply to damp hair, focusing on mid-lengths to ends.
- Massage gently into the scalp.
- Cover with a shower cap and leave for 20–30 minutes.
- Rinse with lukewarm water, then shampoo and condition as usual.
Stylist Tips from Salon 809
- Fine hair? Skip the olive oil to avoid weighing it down.
- Thick or curly hair? Add a tablespoon of coconut cream for extra moisture.
- Use once a week for best results.
